NETHERTON HALL LIVERY

WELCOME TO THE LIVERY STABLES!

We have superb facilities for your horses and their welfare is our prime concern.  We have built a very good reputation in the area for running a very professional but also very friendly yard, whether you are a competition rider or a pleasure rider.

We offer full livery and have limited availability for breaking, schooling and on holiday and rehabilitation livery.  We are also have three herds of horses on retirement livery where they can live out a grass all year round.

The stables are owned and run by Vikki Lowe along with her team of qualified staff who are always there to help.  Vikki is an advanced dressage rider with her BHS Stage IV.  She has a particular interest in breeding, breaking and producing young horses.

All our stables have been purpose built to give 5* accommodation for your horse or pony.  They are large and spacious, light and airy and are all rubber matted with automatic waterers.  Being inside means it is sheltered in the bad weather with indoor tie up areas for grooming and shoeing and washing off.

The fields are all electric fenced and horses are turned out in pairs, or individually, if they are a bit too playful!  All the fields are safe and well looked after, and all have waterers. We are very proud of having excellent facilities for our horses.

Our outdoor school is 20 x 65 meters with a fibresand surface and lights for use at night if needed.  The indoor school also has a fibresand surface and is just under 40 metres long, also with lights, ideal when the weather is bad.  We have a range of show jumps available to use and a monach lunge pen.

The farm ride and cross-country course are available for liveries to use.  The farm ride covers over 2 1/2 miles of our land so you can go for a steady walk or a good gallop.  The cross-country course has optional jumps of various sizes for beginners or the more advanced.  The hacking is very good, there  are a wide range of rides on and off road, including around Carsington Reservoir and Tissington and High Peak Trail are within easy reach..

We have several very good farriers who visit the yard along with vets, physios and trainers over all disciplines or you can bring your own.

We have a range of horses with us from dressage horses, show jumpers and hunters to family horses, foals and retired ones.  All of them are equally important and we will tailor our services to their needs.

We are always looking to provide the best facilities for our liveries and would appreciate any feedback or ideas on how we could improve. If the horses are happy, we are happy.

We are usually fairly full but please contact Vikki to check availability of stables and discuss your needs.

Retirement Livery - Price £180-200 Per Calendar Month

We have a limited number of Grazing Retirement Liveries, where your horse is turned out in a small herd where they are thoroughly checked every day, rugged, hay or haylage fed in winter.

We have a small number of horses who have come to Netherton to retire, we have around 200 acres of good grazing land to rotate them around  They live in small herds who stay out all year round together in large paddocks.  .

The large paddocks are ideal to give them plenty of space to roam in a natural environment and good grazing.

We also can cater for those who need not so good grazing and need to have their diet moderated we are very good at adapting to individual needs.  We also have stabling available should your horse or pony need to come either for a short or longer period.

We work hard to give them the retirement they deserve.  We can match horses up into a group where they are happy and settled together.  Some are older and some are here through injury and can no longer be ridden.

All our retirement horses are wormed together as part of our worming programme.

They are checked thoroughly daily but by the nature of our land they are mostly in view all day.  In the winter we feed our home grown hay or haylage and hard feed if needed and rugs are checked. We have the facility to bring horses in if necessary or if weather conditions are extreme.

We charge £180 for 14.2 hands and under and £200 per calendar month for horses over 14.2 hands.

Please feel free to contact Vikki to discuss your requirements or arrange a visit and see if your horse or pony would like to retire here.
